Planning a late-night diner visit

Confirm the kitchen hours and available menu.

Confirm the hours directly

Check the location opening hours on its own website or by phone. Then ask when the kitchen stops taking orders. A business may remain open for some services after a particular menu or dining area has closed.

Check the available menu

Ask whether the full menu is served during your visit or whether there is a late-night selection. If your group wants breakfast, dinner or a particular dish, confirm it in advance instead of relying on the diner name.

Plan arrival and seating

Check the entrance, parking or transport arrangements that matter to you. Ask whether the diner takes reservations or seats guests on arrival. For a group, confirm whether everyone needs to be present before a table is assigned.

Keep the final details together

Send companions the exact address and meeting time. Allow room in the plan for a wait and choose an alternative if timing is important. Tell staff about any requirements before ordering and confirm how the group will pay.
